This Office Memorandum from the Directorate General of CGHS, dated 11 July 2017, gives special facilities to CGHS beneficiaries aged 80 years and above. They can consult doctors at wellness centres without standing in a queue, and CGHS doctors will call them at least once a month to check on their wellbeing, or visit their home if they live within 5 km of the wellness centre. Their medical claims will be settled on priority, and they may continue follow-up treatment with their existing specialist at a non-empanelled hospital, with reimbursement at CGHS rates.
