Grievances of CGHS card holder senior citizens because of denial of indoor treatment to critically ill patients availing CGHS facilities at Chandigarh

DAPWA’s Letter to the Prime Minister on CGHS Problems in Chandigarh – March 2017

Senior citizen pensioners in Chandigarh were facing serious difficulties with CGHS, and DAPWA raised their concerns directly with the Prime Minister and the Union Health Minister. In this letter dated 31 March 2017, the Association highlights that a single wellness centre serves nearly 29,600 beneficiaries, and that empanelled private hospitals were refusing to admit critically ill patients due to unpaid CGHS bills. It calls for timely release of funds to hospitals, more doctors and specialists, OPD facilities at empanelled hospitals, new wellness centres in Panchkula and Mohali, and the same facilities as those available in Delhi and NCR. Read the full letter for all the issues and suggestions raised.
