This Office Memorandum from the Department of Pension & Pensioners’ Welfare, dated 25 July 2017, clarifies that pre-2016 pensioners and family pensioners do not need to apply for revision of their pension under the 7th Pay Commission. Departments and Pay & Accounts Offices from which the pensioner retired must revise the pension on their own, through notional pay fixation, and issue revised PPOs without delay.
