This Office Memorandum from the Department of Pension & Pensioners’ Welfare, dated 18 September 2018, increases Dearness Relief (DR) for Central Government pensioners and family pensioners from 7% to 9%, effective 1 July 2018. The revised rate applies to civilian central government pensioners, Armed Forces and defence civilian pensioners, All India Service and Railway pensioners, those on provisional pension, and Burma/Pakistan displaced pensioners. DR amounts with a fraction of a rupee will be rounded up, and pension disbursing banks have been directed to pay the revised relief without waiting for further instructions.
