This Office Memorandum from the Directorate of CGHS, dated 18 July 2018, clarifies that once a Government Specialist or CGHS Medical Officer advises a listed treatment or investigation, no separate permission letter is required. Empanelled hospitals and diagnostic centres must not insist on one and must provide these services on a cashless basis to pensioners and other beneficiaries eligible for credit facility.
