It is a matter of great satisfaction and pride that the Defence Accounts Pensioners’ Welfare Association (DAPWA) has made huge strides since its inception more than seventeen years ago. We are very much indebted to our founding members who took the initiative in forming the Body.
The fledgling organisation of yesterday is making its presence felt and has played a stellar role in ameliorating the lot of the Central Govt pensioners community in general and DAD pensioners in particular. Today DAPWA has become synonymous with protection of the pensioners’ rights.
The monthly meetings with the members and their families not only reassure them that they are not alone in their hour of need and adversity but also provide a platform for healthy and meaningful interaction. DAPWA is certainly doing a yeoman’s service sharing the latest developments in various pension-related matters and other areas of interest, organising health talks by reputed doctors from various disciplines and providing an opportunity to the members and their families to showcase their talent.
DAPWA has not confined its activities to safeguarding the interests of its members alone but in deference to its responsibility towards the underprivileged and needy sections of the society, an initiative has been taken in the form of SANKALP which symbolises our pledge to serve the society. It is so gratifying to note that our members have been donating generously to various philanthropic activities undertaken under its aegis. I am sure that we shall be able to fulfil our SANKALP to serve the humanity.
May the Almighty give us strength and wisdom to fulfil our goal to the best of our abilities and endeavours.

Message from the Chairman Desk
On this momentous occasion I would like to congratulate all the office bearers and members of Defence Accounts Pensioners Welfare Association (Chandigarh).
This portal is dedicated to providing a seamless and efficient experience for all Defence Accounts pensioners. Our goal is to ensure that every pensioner has easy access to information, services, and support throughout his retirement journey.
Retirement marks a major milestone, a time to reflect on a career filled with achievements and to look forward to a future of new opportunities and relaxation.
We are committed to providing a user-friendly and accessible platform for all pensioners. We encourage you to explore the various features and services available on this website and reach out to us if you have any questions.
Although with the advent of SPARSH a majority of pension related grievances have been sorted out but DAPWA (Chandigarh) has been in the forefront to ensure justice for all pensioners not only in pension related issues but also on the medical/CGHS front.
On this historic moment we remember, with gratefulness, the late Shri D.S. Nakara IDAS who fought for years to bring dignity and grace to the community, through the judgment of Hon’ble Supreme Court dated 17.12.1982. December 17th, is celebrated every year as ‘Pensioners Day’ since 1983 in India as it was on this day in 1982 that the Supreme Court delivered the landmark judgment guaranteeing dignity and decency to the retired officials.
Pension is neither a bounty, nor a matter of grace depending upon the sweet will of the employer, nor an ex-gratia payment. It is a payment for the past services rendered. It is a social welfare measure rendering socio-economic justice to those who in the heyday of their life ceaselessly toiled for the employer on an assurance that in their old age they would not be left in the lurch.
However, even after four decades of the historic judgement, the plight of pensioners is very well known to us. Hence, the role of organisations like DAPWA assumes an even greater significance.
Last but not the least is the commitment to various social causes being undertaken through SANKALP by DAPWA (Chandigarh) and managed within the resources generated.

Message from the President's Desk
Dear DAPWA's Members,
I am pleased to highlight the concerted efforts of DAPWA in promoting the welfare of DAD pensioners through grievance redressal support relating to pension and CGHS issues, health awareness by organising health camps and health talks, prevention of cyber frauds through cyber awareness programs, and community service initiatives. We remain dedicated to improving the lives of those who have served the nation with pride.
DAPWA continues to assist pensioners and their families with compassion and commitment, fostering a spirit of unity and a feeling of brotherhood and assistance in the time of medical emergency and other critical times.
We have taken another initiative named SANKALP BY DAPWA to help the deprived section of society who really need logistic support and medical care. A dedicated team of DAPWA volunteers always get ready for this noble cause. I am grateful to members for their wholehearted contributions for this noble cause, and do hope this gesture will also continue in future.
Thank you all for your love, trust and support.
